There are many things that you can do here such as the beach-life, go snorkeling, go diving the wonderful underwater world, take day-trips e.g. to the james bond island, to national parks, visit the temples (wats), go elephant-ridiing, see the aquarium, go shopping in Phuket Town, Nightlife in Patong, Butterfly and Orchids park, watch a Snake show, visit the Crocodile-ranch, enjoy all kinds of food (fresh fruits, sushi, indian currys, thai hot soups, italian pasta, us-beef, etc etc...) - go to a Tailor and let them make you a suit or a dress. They are amazingly cheap.

Phuket also boasts some of the world's wonderful spas. If you walk along the second street back from Patong Beach you will see a shop with many different artistic works all made by a motorbike mechanic from motorcycle engine parts He makes anything and everything. Most of his characters are recognisable from movies. The "Alien" (from the movie) even dismantles as does his 7foot "Predator" which took him 4 months to build. It is worth a visit to see these wonderful works when you're out shopping in Patong Beach. Sornthong (artist and owner) can be found actually creating his works during the day or just manning the shop by night. He also makes objects such as ornaments, lampshades and flowerpots.  Patong Beach is the most well known and popular beach in Phuket. It is a beautiful beach with white sands and clear, turquoise water. When you mention Phuket, most people immediately think of Patong Beach. It is where many tourists flock to lay on sunbeds, swim or participate in the sporting activities available there. Many more come to Patong Beach for the shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Whilst Patong is so famous and popular now, only about 40 years ago did King Bhumibol order a road be built connecting Patong Beach with Phuket town. Before the road, villagers could actually die before being able to reach hospital in Phuket town. Surfing is also a nice thing to do in Phuket.
